If changing the previous function of this former hotel is not easy, it is even more difficult when the signature of the building belongs to the internationally acclaimed architect Juli Capella. In 2005, Terrassa closed the north remodeling of the central Vapor Gran with de building of Hotel Terrassa. However, the economic crisis made unviable the sustainability of this hotel offer and the hotel closed its doors.

The new owner of the building, Mútua Terrassa, decides to move there its retirement home, taking advantage of the huge value of being located inside the pedestrian zone of the city centre.

The main challenge: redo entirely the seven floors of the building. Every floor replaces the twelve original rooms for ten rooms, two of them adapted to persons who require assistance or have mobility difficulties. also, every floor has common areas where the users enjoy small dining rooms and relax areas.  The higher floor is equipped with 9 wide single rooms with extraordinary views.

The change of uses also involves the transformation of the lower floors, conceived as group dining rooms and meeting rooms, into rehabilitation and living rooms.
